Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How much is the course?
This programme is is £147 the equivalent to one and a half hours of private speech therapy. For that you get lifetime access to the programme and all future updates of it. You also are welcomed into the community and can ask questions every month.
I have already had some speech therapy, is this just more of the same?
The Can-Do Approach is very different to other speech therapy. We focus on what your child can already do and we help to stretch them inchstone by inchstone. We help the children find their intrinsic motivation to communicate rather than teaching them through rote learning.
I don't have much time to learn, is this for me?
The programme is designed so you can learn as much or as little as you want. Each step has the option of a quick video or a longer, more in-depth video. there are also options to do additional learning too if you have time.
Does it work? Will my child talk?
I can't guarentee that your child will talk, no-one can. But I have seen more progress in more children since I created the Can-Do than I have at any other time in my career. It is different, it is kind, and gentle and focuses on your child's natural interests and desires. It helps you to build the confidence to support your child all day everyday.
I don't want to have to be the Speech Therapist for my child, I just want to parent, is it for me?
You are the expert in your child, and you are best placed to help your child but this method supports you to have fun, build a connection and enjoy time with your child. It won't feel like work and you can just learn and grow together.
My child has a developmental condition/diagnosis will it work for us?
YES! It works for all children who are finding talking difficult. Because it is focused on all aspects of communication it helps to buld your child's confidence no matter which stage they are at.
My child is non-verbal can it help?
YES! Absolutely, it will help your child even ifthey are non-verbal.
I work full time can I manage it?
The programme is designed to fit around busy lives. It is about what you do in the little moments, not about having hours of extra time a week. As long as you have abit of time to watch the videos you will be good togo.
I have been bad to feel guilty, bad and crazy in the past when I share concerns, will this happen again.
Absoloutely NOT! This programme is all about doing what you Can Do, celebrating the small wins, appreciating your child for they are, coming together with likeminded parents to share the progress, get support as you need it and having access to expert professional advice from someone who genuinely cares about you and your child.
What does it mean NHS approved
The programme has been piloted in Bury NHS trust and was hugely successful. Following that we were recomissioned and we are now talking to other locations who want to use our programme as they recognise it's effectiveness.
If I don't like it can I get a refund?
I am sorry, because of the digital nature of this product we do not offer a refund. If you buy it and then it is not the right time for you, put it to one side and come back later. You have access for as long as you need (for the lifetime of the programme)
What does the 'Lifetime of the Programme' mean?
You have can access to the programme is running. If the programme is to cease for unexpected reasons you will have at least 8 weeks notice of this unless it is because of a situation outside of our control.
